We've spent the past year learning what makes a good continence product, and it turns out to be fairly simple. It's the one you can stop thinking about once it's on.
Luma is our own continence range, and it's now available at Radius Shop for customers throughout New Zealand. Before it went on sale, it spent a year in use across Radius Care homes around the country.
Residents told us what felt comfortable, and carers told us what was easy to put on and change in the middle of a busy shift. Nearly everything they raised came back to fit, comfort through the day and looking after skin, so that's where we focused before Luma reached the shop.
Our team also visited the factory in Shijiazhuang, China, where Luma is made. We came away confident in the quality, and the people there were open to our ideas, which matters because we plan to keep improving the range.
Choosing the right continence product
Luma comes in three styles with different levels of support, and the right one depends on how your day runs.
Pull-up pants go on and come off like regular underwear, so they suit people who are up and about and want something familiar.
Wraps open out flat and fasten at the sides, so they're easier to put on and change lying down and are often a carer's first choice.
Shaped pads sit inside snug-fitting underwear and are the most flexible of the three, without adding much bulk.
We'll keep listening to customers, carers and health professionals, and use what they tell us to improve the products and add to the range over time. If you're not sure which style suits you or someone you care for, give our team a call or send us a message and we'll help you work it out.
